Jessy Cantinol, Senior, Forward, Renaissance Academy

Received slew of awards including John R. Wooden Division VI Player of the Year and CIF Southern Section Division VI and Harbor League first-team honors, after averaging 15.9 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists a game in a season where Wildcats captured first-ever CIF Southern Section Division title and fell one game short of CIF State Boys’ Division V championship.

Blake Hamilton, Senior, Forward, Pasadena

Earned Pacific League and CIF Southern Section Division III-AAA first-team awards after averaging a double-double with 17 points and 10.5 rebounds a game for Pasadena. Scored a team-high 21 points a game in postseason.

Brandon Jolley, Junior, Forward, Pasadena

Led CIF Southern Section Division III-AAA and Pacific League champion Bulldogs with average of 19 points per game along with nine rebounds. Went on to earn co-Division III-AAA and Pacific League Player of the Year honors after shooting 58% from field and 80% from free-throw line.

Jeremy Major, Junior, Guard, Maranatha

Pepperdine-bound junior posted division-high 25.8 points per game in Southern Section (Division IV-AA), while shooting 54% from floor. Hauled in Olympic League MVP and division first-team awards for Minutemen squad that went 21-6, 6-2 in league.

Christian Misi, Senior, Forward, Crescenta Valley

Headed to Cal Baptist after senior season in which he earned Pacific League and CIF Southern Section Division I-A first-team accolades and averaged 14.8 points, 10.5 rebounds a contest for Falcons squad that advanced to Division I-A semifinals.

COACH OF THE YEAR

Shawn Zargarian, Crescenta Valley

Coached a well-rounded, experienced Falcons squad to 26 wins and runner-up finish in strong Pacific League with 12-2 record that included a memorable win over rival Pasadena. CV enjoyed one of its finest seasons, reaching CIF Southern Section Division I-A semifinals for first time since 1994 and securing a berth in the state playoffs, where it gave eventual champion Mater Dei a run for its money.
