Miss La Cañada Flintridge court, queen decision is in judges’ hands

Ten finalists in the 2016 Miss La Cañada Flintridge contest participated last week in the final judging session and now look ahead to Dec. 4, when the five-member court will be announced at the community’s Festival in Lights. The event takes place at 4 p.m. in Memorial Park, 1301 Foothill Blvd.

The finalists are Talar Baranian, Kara Bradley, Claire Chapman, Heather Connolly, Sloan Elmassian, Shayna Goldstein, Katy Paynter, Grace Rickert, Jessy Sitaramya and Alexa Tarui.

The annual contest is overseen by the La Cañada Flintridge Chamber of Commerce and Community Assn. Judges included Kim Beattie, chairman of the chamber’s board; Katherine Markgraf, Erik Ovanespour, Tammy Smith, Linda Taix-Paccone and Dr. Rion Zimmerman.

While the court will be named next week, the identity of its queen will not be revealed until the evening of the LCF Chamber’s 104th installation and awards gala, set for Jan. 28.
