Walk Bike Burbank offers free tune-ups Saturday

Share

Burbank bicycle riders planning to turn up for Sunday’s CicLAvia may want a tune-up ahead of the open street event in Culver City first.

On Saturday, Walk Bike Burbank will be offering free bike safety checks and adjustments at the Burbank Farmers’ Market, one of four annual bike checks the nonprofit sponsors.

Trained and certified bicycle mechanics will be on hand from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to ensure seats are well-seated, brakes aren’t broken and tire tubes are tubular.

Visitors can drop their two-wheelers off at the farmers’ market’s community table to have them checked while they shop, according to a statement from Walk Bike Burbank.

The nonprofit chapter of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition also noted that riders heading to the market can load their bikes on the racks at the front of Metro busses on routes 183, 292, 155 or 96 for a lift to the stop on Olive Avenue and Glenoaks Boulevard near the market.
