Burbank Halloween decorating entries being judged tonight

Tonight is judgment night for the 50 Burbank residences and businesses registered in the Civic Pride Committee’s inaugural Halloween decorating contest.

There were a total of 37 entries in the residential category, seven in the youth under 16 category and six in the commercial category. That's compared to just 16 entries total in last year's 32nd annual Holiday Decorating Contest in December.

Committee members hope the annual Halloween competition will promote hometown pride."This one's going to be a lot more successful," said Robert Vincent, chairman of the Civic Pride Committee, during a meeting earlier this week where committee members discussed plans for tonight's anticipated 3-hour tour through the city to judge the entrants.

For those who want to plot their own tour, here's an interactive map of the entries with residential entries represented by green dots, youth entries by yellow dots and commercial entries red dots.
