Community: Animal Shelter benefits from donation campaign

Share

RE/MAX Town Center recently completed a campaign to collect pet items and deliver them to the Burbank Animal Shelter.

The 29 agents employed by the real estate company, owned by Peter Micalchuck and Susan Featherly, annually participate in the program titled “We Love Our Furry Friends Fun-Drive.”

The two-week collection drive was organized by agents Cynde Bost and Melissa Soto. Agents dropped off collection bags on the porches of residents in their territories and then returned days later to pick up the bags.

Partnering with the real estate office were Beverly Mitchell, manager of the 99 Cents Only Store in North Hollywood, who donated $50 in pet food and large boxes of more than 200 towels, food, pet supplies and chew toys; and Sprouts in Burbank, which donated all the bags to transport the pet items to the animal shelter.

A portion of the cat food was donated to Gina Nardico, a local volunteer who feeds the feral and homeless cats that live under the Burbank Boulevard overpass. She buys food for them and pays for them to be spayed and neutered.
