A 49-year-old man was arrested Monday on suspicion of murdering a woman who was found dead in his Burbank home, police said.

Just before 10 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to the 1900 block of Richard Street, where a woman in her 30s, who was not identified, was found dead inside a residence, said Burbank Police Officer Joshua Kendrick.

She was located inside a bedroom with “multiple lacerations to her upper torso,” Kendrick said.

Brian Thomas Lowe, who lives in the home with his mother and appears to be an acquaintance of the victim, was arrested Monday afternoon in connection with her death.

He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail and is due in court this week.

Burbank’s SWAT team on Monday conducted an “article search” in the front yards and gutters of the neighborhood, though no weapon was recovered.

According to a relative of a neighbor, Lowe and his elderly mother are longtime residents of the single-family home where the body was found.

The woman, who asked not to be identified citing safety concerns, said that different people were always seen coming and going from the house.

“My kids are always here playing in front of the house, so it’s very scary,” she said.

Neither the cause nor time of death was immediately known. Further details were not immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Burbank police at (818) 238-3210.
