The stabbing had occurred about a mile-and-a-half away on the 1000 block of West Magnolia Boulevard, where officers served a search warrant Sunday morning to recover evidence.

During the investigation, a man showed up at the police station and told investigators he’d had an altercation with the stabbing victim, who underwent surgery for his injuries.

The man was interviewed and released pending further investigation, Losacco said.
