Flooded roadway closes several lanes on Golden State (5) Freeway

Flooding on the Golden State (5) Freeway Wednesday afternoon closed all but one freeway lane in each direction near Sheldon Street just north of Burbank, backing up traffic, officials said.

A Sigalert was issued shortly before 1 p.m.

The carpool lane remains open in each direction as crews work to remove the water from the roadway, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Alex Rubio.
