Fatal shooting at Burbank hotel ruled an accident

Authorities have determined the shooting death earlier this month of a 34-year-old man outside the Los Angeles Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel was an accident.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office said Justin Malone was killed Nov. 10 when a gun he had in his wheelchair fell to the ground and discharged a bullet that struck him in the head.

Officers found him on the ground in the hotel’s valet-parking area. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
