Firefighters in Burbank spent almost nearly an hour extinguishing a house fire early Monday morning.

Authorities were alerted to a fire that had engulfed a single-story home in the 1700 block of Lima Street around 6:30 a.m. Battalion Chief Ron Barone said 40 firefighters were at the scene to deal with the blaze, eventually knocking it down by 7:12 a.m.

Barone said there were no injuries at the scene and the man living at the home was at work by the time the fire started.

The battalion chief said the house was completely destroyed and fire investigators are currently looking into the blaze’s cause.
