5 Freeway temporarily closed while police talk down man threatening to jump from overpass

Police briefly closed both sides of the Golden State (5) Freeway Thursday afternoon near Olive Avenue in Burbank after a man threatened to jump from the overpass.

At around 12:30 p.m. a 37-year-old man said he was going to jump from the bridge over the freeway.

Traffic was briefly shut down in both directions of the freeway by California Highway Patrol and Burbank police.

Officers were able to talk the man down after 30 minutes.
