Woodbury University is looking to showcase the alumni of its architecture school through an art exhibit called “Range: Alumni Exhibition.”

Drawings, photos and models built by 70 graduates of Woodbury’s School of Architecture are on display at the Woodbury University Hollywood Outpost Gallery through Nov. 27.

Some of the featured alumni and architects include Sonny Ward, who several years ago updated a traditional Hollywood bungalow to look more modern, and Ignacio Rodriguez, who designs high-end contemporary homes.

Ingalill Wahlroos-Ritter, interim dean for the school, said she believed it was about time that something was done to bring together the alumni and showcase what they have done since graduating.

FOR THE RECORD

10/26, 4:50 p.m.: A previous version of this story misidentified the name of the exhibition as “”Rage: Alumni Exhibition.” It is called “Range: Alumni Exhibition.”

“We’re trying to build a community and really highlight the spectacular work that our alumni are doing,” she said. “My husband teaches architecture at USC, and they have a very deep resource base that comes from their alumni and we do not. So this was a way to give back to our alumni and recognize the work that they’re doing, but to start to develop a culture around Woodbury pride.”

Wahlroos-Ritter said the university is focused on ensuring that its students find work after graduating and developing a support system for alumni when they are out in the real world.

“We are totally about education and knowledge,” she said. “Our roots are in practical training. Our students have to be able to leave here and get work right away.”
