Letter: Airport should tap local labor force

Share

Now that the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority has agreed to pay for an environmental impact report that would study a possible terminal replacement at Bob Hope Airport, I’d like to remind all involved that no matter what the federal government and state of California say about unemployment numbers, there are people who still need work.

If a new terminal is to be built I expect the cities of Pasadena, Burbank and Glendale to make certain their citizens get jobs in this needed economic engine and also a piece of the action in the $1.2 million EIR.

Don’t you dare let 60% or more of the forecast money be spent and slip away into hands and bank accounts of businesses and workers not domiciled in Glendale, Pasadena and Burbank!
