OK, Burbankers, what we have here in the Dec. 5 story, “City Manager Mark Scott to retire Feb. 5,” is beyond a mere misunderstanding or teeny conflict. It’s Burbank City Council stupidity.

Highly principled Mr. Scott stuck to his justifiable guns to get a Burbank City employee upgrade in job scope and pay. Burbankers should respectfully applaud him. If the city worker at issue were principled, this municipal employee would jump ship, too. However, few people are noble enough to do so.
