Letter: Volunteer thanks many supporters of fundrasier for Burbank Animal Shelter

Share

In September I started to raise money for the Burbank Animal Shelter, and I was lucky to get to work with the seniors at the Burbank Senior Artists Colony, who helped me create hundreds of origami animals that I gave out at the Farmers Market as thank-you gifts for all donations we received for the shelter. My idea would never have happened if this wasn’t such an amazing city!

I would like to thank my parents for their support, Sharon Springer at EngAGE for her kindness and mentoring, and all the kids and seniors who helped me on this work, especially my good friend and neighbor, Simreen Kaur Sethi, who was the first to join the project!

I really want to thank all the people in Burbank who came to the Farmers Market in October and November and donated to our cause. Because of their kindness, I was able to raise $1,131.07, all of which will be presented to the Burbank Animal Shelter on Dec. 15.

Thank you for being such a wonderful city!
