Letter: Volunteers sought to help build Burbank’s rose float

Burbank Tournament of Roses Assn. invites community members to join us in making history as we build and decorate our float entry titled, “Are We There Yet?” for the 2016 Pasadena Rose Parade.

This year, the theme of the parade is “Find Your Adventure” and Burbank’s float entry illustrates the adventure of a raccoon family’s journey as they visit and explore the National Parks in California. Come be a part of history in the making and get these raccoons on the road for their adventure!

Volunteers, ages 5 and older, are welcome to work at the float site any Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Dec. 24, and then daily Dec. 26 to 31. Please visit our website to fill out a release form. Those under 18 are required to include on the release the signature of a parent or guardian; those under 15 have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the site.

Please remember when entering the float barn to wear clothes that can get dirty. Also, be sure to wear closed-toe shoes. There are a lot of fun jobs, small and big, for everyone. We hope to see you down there as we create this wonderful piece of history.

For any questions, please feel free to contact us at (818) 840-0060 or visit our website at burbankrosefloat.com.

See you soon,

Linda Cozakos
