Sports Roundup: Burroughs golf shoots to second in league match

BOYS’ GOLF

Burbank, Burroughs in Pacific League match No. 2: The Indians finished second and the Bulldogs were fourth Thursday afternoon at Harding Golf Course.

Arcadia won the event with a team total of 376 and was followed by Burroughs (402), Crescenta Valley (424) and Burbank (431).

On the par-72 course, the Indians received a 77 from Ryan McGowan, 78s from Kodiak Hernandez and Jake Panikowski, an 84 from Aaron Cohen and an 85 from Niko Coccio.

The scorers for the Bulldogs were J.J. Nakao (71), Kevin Kienlen (78), Hayden Chase (90), Brian McCarthy (93) and Davin Blazon (99).

The medalist was Arcadia’s Jerry Wu, who fired a two-under-par 70.

BASEBALL

Burroughs 5, Granada Hills Kennedy 3: Pitcher Nicco Chuidian got the win for the Indians on Thursday afternoon in a consolation game of the Easton Tournament at home.

Chuidian went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out two and walking two.

Jacob Barrera was two for three with a run batted in and a run scored, Collin Johnson was two for two with an RBI, Matthew Diaz had a double, two walks and an RBI and Jesse Rodriguez drove in a run for Burroughs (3-2).

The Indians scored two runs in the second inning, one in the third and two in the sixth.

BOYS’ TENNIS

Burbank 18, Hoover 0: The Bulldogs (3-1, 2-1 in Pacific League) earned a forfeit win Thursday, as the Tornadoes didn’t have enough players.

Arcadia 18, Burroughs 0: The Indians (2-3, 2-1 in league) suffered a Pacific League loss Thursday afternoon on the road.
