Sports Roundup: Burroughs, Providence boys’ soccer earn wins

BOYS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 4, Pasadena 3: Behind a pair of goals from Esteban Alcantar, the Indians picked up a Pacific League road victory on Tuesday.

Burroughs improved to 12-6-1, 6-2-1 in league.

Down, 2-1, the Indians scored three goals in seven minutes in the second half to take a 4-2 lead. David Gerlach and Topli Petko added goals for Burroughs, which received 10 saves from goalkeeper Sebestian Kalemkerian.

Providence 4, Trinity Classical 0: The Pioneers picked up a nonleague victory road victory Tuesday afternoon, thanks in part to a hat trick by Paul Swaine.

Elias Ferguson had a goal and Patrick Avedikian had two assists for the Pioneers (6-4-1).

Crescenta Valley 6, Burbank 0: The Bulldogs lost a Pacific League home contest Tuesday afternoon to drop to 3-6-4, 2-5-2 in league.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Burbank 56, Hoover 20: Junior Osanna Tirityan outscored the Tornadoes in a Pacific League home victory Tuesday afternoon.

Tirityan tallied 27 points to go along with 12 rebounds for Burbank (9-14, 4-4 in league), while Sophia Jimenez added 12 points.

Burroughs 44, Arcadia 38: The Indians earned a Pacific League sweep of the Apaches with the win Tuesday at home.

Faith Boulanger had 12 points, nine rebounds and three steals and Marin Grote had nine points and 15 rebounds for Burroughs(14-8, 5-3 in league).

Lycee International of Los Angeles 1, Judson International 0: The Lions (3-6 in league and overall) got the forfeit win Tuesday.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Burbank 56, Hoover 39: The Bulldogs won their third straight Pacific League game Tuesday on the road.

Erik Harutyunyan paced Burbank (14-7, 4-4 in league) with 18 points, while Justin DeSales chipped in with 11.

Burroughs 70, Arcadia 62: The Indians earned the Pacific League win Tuesday on the road.

Burroughs is 12-8, 3-5 in league.

GIRLS’ WATER POLO

Arcadia 11, Burbank 5: The Bulldogs fell to 5-11, 1-4 in the Pacific League with the loss Tuesday on the road.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Burroughs 3, Pasadena 1: Abbie Riggs had a goal and an assist in leading the Indians to the Pacific League win Tuesday at home.

Lauren Bailey and Orla Giffen also had goals for Burroughs (11-2-2, 6-1-1 in league).
