Sports Roundup: Four scores from Davis lead Providence girls’ soccer to win

GIRLS’ SOCCER

Providence 7, Holy Family 1: Four goals from Claire Davis led the Pioneers to an easy nonleague victory Tuesday afternoon.

Orla Dempsey added two goals and one assist for Providence (4-0-1), who picked up a goal from Kelly FitzGerald, four assists from Micaella Haban and one assist from Celia Renteria. Gigi Loizzo added five saves.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

San Marino 44, Providence 34: Melissa Zozulenko with 12 points for Providence (4-1) on Tuesday in a pool-play contest of the South Pasadena Tournament.

Marymount 59, Burbank 42: The Bulldogs fell in the Brentwood Tournament on Saturday.

Burroughs 52 Maranatha 37: Marin Grote had 15 points, 19 rebounds and eight blocks for the Indians on Monday in the Burroughs Magnolia Park Optimist Tournament.

Faith Boulanger added 10 points and eight rebounds and Dyani Del Castillo had seven rebounds for Burroughs in the season opener.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Pasadena Poly 61, Providence 57 (overtime): The Pioneers (4-1) fell Tuesday in a Pasadena Poly Tournament contest.

Lycee International of Los Angeles 63, Aveson 39: The Lions (2-2) earned the International League victory Monday afternoon at Olive Recreation Center.
