Sports Roundup: Cardenaz drops 25 in Burroughs’ girls’ basketball’s win over Arcadia

Burroughs 48, Arcadia 37: Kamryn Cardenaz had a huge night with 25 points to lead the Indians to a win on the road to improve to 13-10, 5-3 in the Pacific League.

Cardenaz added seven rebounds, Marin Grote had six points and pulled down 17 rebounds and Jocelyn Rieken contributed six rebounds and four assists.

Burbank 60, Hoover 13: The Bulldogs completed a season sweep of the Tornadoes with a Pacific League win Friday evening at home.

Osana Tirityan paced Burbank (13-12, 4-4 in league) with 13 points, while Kaitlynn Hanno chipped with nine.

Bellarmine-Jefferson 62, St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy 20: The Guards remained perfect in the Camino Real League with a win Thursday evening on the road.

Bell-Jeff, ranked No. 1 in CIF Southern Section Division V-A, improved to 17-3, 6-0 in league.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Burroughs 65, Arcadia 58: The Indians picked up a crucial Pacific League road victory Friday evening.

Tristen Hull led Burroughs (12-9, 4-5 in league) with 17 points, while Austin Marx added 15 and Stefon Foster scored all 10 of his points in the second half.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Providence 8, Pacifica Christian 0: The Pioneers remained perfect in the Independence League with a win Friday afternoon at Occidental College. Providence is 3-0 in league.

Burroughs 4, Arcadia 1: The Indians roared to a lopsided Pacific League win at home Friday to maintain their first place standing.

At 14-4-3, 8-2 in league, Burroughs has 24 points, with second-place Crescenta Valley at 21.

Burbank 1, Hoover 1: Kenneth Rovira scored for the Bulldogs in the Pacific League match Friday afternoon at home.

Burbank is 0-11-3, 0-9-1 in league as it snapped an eight-game losing streak and a six-game scoreless drought.

Arcadia 7, Burroughs 0: The Indians had no answer for the defending and undefeated Pacific League champions in a loss Friday afternoon on the road.

Burroughs is 10-7-1, 6-4 in league.

Burbank 4, Hoover 0: The Bulldogs improved to 4-8-2, 4-4-2 in league with a Pacific League victory Friday on the road.
