Burbank police investigation leads to arrest of felon in Sun Valley

A 23-year-old convicted felon was arrested Wednesday after police allegedly found cocaine, more than 900 Vicodin pills and a loaded gun in his Sun Valley home, Burbank police said.

Police identified the man – Manuel Estrada – after an investigation connected him to a known drug dealer who had been arrested in December during a traffic stop, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

Police served a search warrant at Estrada’s home Tuesday, where they reported finding the drugs, evidence of narcotics sales, and a loaded .38 caliber revolver, Ryburn said.

Estrada’s rap sheet spans back to 2007, when he was convicted of driving without a license, according to Los Angeles County Superior Court records.

Most recently, in January 2011, Estrada was found guilty of burglary, and in September 2010, for possession of methamphetamine for sale, court records show.

He was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of possession of narcotics for sale and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, Ryburn said.

Estrada was held in lieu of $250,000 bail in advance of his court appearance, which was slated for Friday, according to Los Angeles County jail records.
