A 75-year-old Burbank woman who allegedly switched seats with her son after the car he was driving hit an open door of a parked SUV was arrested this past weekend, police said.

Witnesses reportedly told police that her son, 44-year-old Jeffrey Miljanich, was driving with his mom in a Buick sedan at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday when they allegedly hit the open door of a parked Chevy Tahoe in the 700 block of Sixth Street, Sgt. Darin Ryburn said.

Jeffrey Miljanich then allegedly got out of the car and yelled and cussed at one witness while refusing to exchange information, Ryburn said.

“While he’s yelling, an elderly female gets out of the passenger side [of the Buick] and gets in the driver’s seat,” according to the two witnesses, Ryburn said.

Jeffrey Miljanich allegedly denied being the driver of the car when police arrived.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, and his mom was taken into custody for allegedly providing false information to police and obstructing the investigation of a hit-and-run, Ryburn said.
