Three men were arrested after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! trading cards from the Toys R Us in Burbank, police said.

The men – David Lundari, 20, Vincenzo Francese, 21, and Seth Marion, 52 – entered Toys R Us just before 8 p.m. on Friday to buy a Little Tikes basketball hoop, said Burbank Police Lt. Eddie Ruiz.

But before paying, the men allegedly stuffed the large box the hoops comes in with 105 packs of Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic and Kaijudo trading cards and four sets of ear buds, together worth $700, Ruiz said.

Loss prevention officers, who saw the men stuffing the hoop box, called the police as the trio left the store after having paid only for the basketball hoop.

In their truck, police discovered a second basketball hoop box filled with $3,900 worth of stolen trading cards and other Toys R Us items, Ruiz said.

The men were arrested on suspicion of burglary and grand theft.
