A 21-year-old Burbank man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly attempted to strike his sister’s fiance with a golf club following an argument.

Taehoan Kim was allegedly arguing with his mother and sister around 6 p.m. on the 500 block of Palm Drive when his sister’s fiance attempted to calm Kim down, Lt. Eduardo Ruiz said.

The argument escalated and everyone but Kim went into a different room.

Kim appeared a short time later with a golf club, and allegedly “took a threatening stance with the golf club and appeared ready to assault the [sister’s fiancee],” Ruiz said. “A short scuffle occurred until police officers arrived on scene. There were no serious injuries to any of the parties involved.”

The 27-year-old fiancee was not identified by police but is a resident of La Palma.

Kim was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked at the Burbank jail, police said.
