Police are searching for a man who shot pepper spray into a 73-year-old woman’s face Thursday at the downtown Burbank Metrolink station.

The woman was transported to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center for treatment.

After the assault, which occurred at about 6:40 a.m. at the West Olive Avenue station, a search for the man turned up empty. Now Burbank police are asking the public’s help in tracking him down.

The man was described by police as being white and between 50 and 60 years old with a large build and blue eyes. He was wearing a beige cap, a gray or green shirt and khaki pants at the time of the assault.

Anyone who may have seen or heard anything was encouraged to call the Burbank Police Department Investigations Bureau at (818) 238-3210.
