Another pharmacy burglarized in Burbank

Share

Two suspects in ski masks and dark clothing stole prescription drugs from Walgreens on Thursday morning, making it the fourth Burbank pharmacy to have been hit in the last six weeks, police said on Friday.

Surveillance video footage showed the suspects smashing the store’s window at 3:43 a.m. to gain access. The suspects stole multiple bottles of Vicodin and hydrocodone before fleeing back through the smashed window.

Walgreens employees discovered the damage at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday. While employees said the alarm was set, police didn’t receive any alarm activation notices.

It’s unknown whether the four burglaries involve the same individuals, police said.

“It could be a group of individuals hitting pharmacies, or it could be separate individuals,” said police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

Police encouraged pharmacies, especially mom-and-pop stores, to install surveillance cameras and increase security measures. Police also plan to step up patrol efforts around the target areas, Ryburn said.

Those with any information on the burglaries were encouraged to call the Burbank Police Detective Bureau at (818) 238-3210.
