A 16-year-old Burbank boy was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old with his fist, breaking his nose and causing facial lacerations and a possible concussion, police said.

Just after 4 p.m., Burbank police were dispatched to Lake Street and Linden Court after a witness found the 14-year-old boy lying in the middle of the street and bleeding from his face.

The victim was transported to the hospital and treated for his injuries, said Burbank police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

Police interviewed the victim at the hospital and the suspect was identified. The 16-year-old boy was subsequently arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and transported to juvenile hall.

Their identities were not released because they are minors.

Police believe the two teens knew each other, but don’t know what caused the altercation.

“We’ll get to the bottom of it,” Ryburn said.
