Burbank police on Monday identified the man who was killed in a crash on Sunday as 33-year-old Roman Ramos Rubio, and said the 29-year-old driver who hit him could face a vehicular manslaughter charge in court on Tuesday.

That man, identified by police as Ivan Valle, also of Burbank, remains in custody in lieu of $100,000 bail. Police allege Valle was intoxicated and driving without a valid driver’s license when the crash occurred early Sunday morning.

The fatal crash occurred when Valle’s SUV collided head-on with a sedan driven by Rubio at the intersection of Buena Vista Street and Alameda Avenue at approximately 5:40 a.m. The impact of the collision caused the sedan to strike a light pole and a fence, while the SUV struck and sheared a fire hydrant.

Emergency crews arrived to find the sedan lodged in the iron fence of the Walt Disney Studios property. Rubio was pronounced dead at the scene.

Valle is scheduled to be arraigned in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday, according to Burbank police.
