Helicopter rules depend on FAA

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) announced plans to take up legislation to regulate low-flying helicopters above residential neighborhoods, saying voluntary controls for the “persistent flyovers” were clearly insufficient.

Whether there will be a tightening of the rules on flight paths and minimum altitudes for helicopters will depend on the actions of the Federal Aviation Administration. Schiff said he would take up stalled legislation introduced by Howard Berman. Let’s see what happens.
