Grab your sunscreen and swim trunks because the long-awaited re-opening of Burbank’s Verdugo Pool is set for Saturday, officials said.

After a five-year closure and multiple opening delays, the newly renovated Verdugo Recreation Center will feature a 50-meter pool with diving boards, and an activity pool with two water slides and a play area for kids.

New locker rooms, lifeguard offices and concession facilities were also constructed as part of the $7.3 million renovation.

Recreational swimming will cost $2 for resident children and $4 for adults. It will cost an additional $2 to access the activity pool.

The facility — minus the activity pool — will remain open for 11 months of the year for a one-year pilot period.
