Good morning, readers. Today is Friday, September 7. Three sisters and one man with roots in the Valley are making a name for themselves in the indie music world.

A 59-year-old Sylmar woman died last week after being lit on fire, reports LAist. Her son was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A woman’s report that her husband was “going crazy” and in posession of a gun led SWAT officers to surround the Canoga Park home Thursday, according to the Daily News. But when they finally entered the residence, he was not to be found.
