Thanks for revising wireless ordinance

Many thanks to the City Council for voting to revise Burbank’s wireless telecommunications ordinance. The council correctly recognized that our current ordinance is sorely lacking in important protections for the community.

The revision process offers Burbank a wonderful opportunity to lead in this area — becoming a model for resident protection, not merely matching what other localities may do. Changes in technology will undoubtedly alter the landscape of telecommunications in years to come and we need a forward-looking ordinance that anticipates these changes and insures safeguards to our health and privacy. Burbank is, and will remain, an attractive site for telecom investment and the city can require strong protections without fear of losing their ever-growing business.
