Raising rates will reduce parking

Share

In regards to your article in the Saturday edition entitled “Parking rates get a bump”:

This is a perfect example of government thinking — our revenue is down so let’s raise taxes. The private sector thinks differently— “Our revenue is down so let’s have a sale.”

Raising the airport parking rates will have an opposite effect of what was intended in that people will search for ways not to park rather than pay the increased fare. For me, it’s cheaper to pay for a cab than pay the parking rates already. Raising the parking rates just seals the deal. You won’t see my car in the airport lots again.
