Attempted robbery suspect arrested after armed Burbank resident scares him off with warning shot

A 42-year-old man was arrested Friday evening after he allegedly attempted to rob a Burbank home but was scared off when a resident armed himself and fired a warning shot, police said.

Around 6:10 p.m., the suspect, identified as William Volkmor, attempted to rob a single-family residence, located in the 2000 block of North Brighton Street. Volkmor fled the scene after a male resident armed himself with a firearm and fired a single warning shot, said Sgt. Scott Meadows with the Burbank Police Department.

Police apprehend Volkmor, who was arrested for attempted robbery and is currently in custody.
