A 30-year-old Santa Clarita man was arrested Tuesday after reportedly attempting to rob a Burbank pharmacy, police said.

The man, identified as Shawn McMahon, reportedly entered AMC Pharmacy, located at 2625 W. Alameda Ave., at 11:45 a.m. and demanded narcotics while telling the pharmacy employee that he had a weapon, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

The employee ran to the back of the store to alert her co-worker, after which the two employees wrestled with the suspect and detained him, Ryburn said.

A third witness, who was alerted to the incident after one of the employees ran outside to call for help, also helped hold down the suspect until police arrived.

No injuries were reported, and no weapon was recovered, Ryburn said.
