Burbank’s Flair Cleaners celebrates 40 years in business

Share

Family-run business Flair Cleaners is celebrating 40 years in Burbank this year.

The company, which has five locations in Southern California, serves Media City’s entertainment industry, along with customers who have gone there for decades.

Twenty years ago, one customer brought in her wedding dress for cleaning and preservation. This year, her daughter did the same.

“It’s just a pleasure to work,” said manager Ronald Roscoe, who’s worked at Flair Cleaners since it opened in 1973.

Roscoe is not the only longtime employee — nine other store employees have worked at the business between two and three decades.

The business is collecting used clothing and shoes for its 11th annual holiday clothing drive, which last year brought in 4,000 pounds of clothes among its five locations.

“We get an absolutely wonderful response,” said owner Gary Futterman. “Our customers empty out their closets, bring their clothes and shoes, which go to worthwhile local charities.”

The Burbank business – located at 337 N. Pass Ave. – is open seven days a week.
