Caltrans invites public to I-5 meeting

The California Department of Transportation will host an open house Thursday for the public to learn about the Empire interchange freeway-construction project in Burbank.

The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the community room of the Burbank Community Services Building, 150 N. 3rd St.

The project includes adding carpool lanes between Magnolia Boulevard and Buena Vista Street on the Golden State (5) Freeway, constructing a new interchange at Empire Avenue, reconstructing the Burbank Boulevard overcrossing and other improvements officials say will improve safety and traffic congestion.
