Corvette crashes into house

Officials expect test results in three weeks to determine the blood-alcohol level of a Burbank man who crashed his vehicle into a home on Friday evening.

Pat Leeper, 63, was cited and released on suspicion of drunk driving when he drove his Chevrolet Corvette into a family’s living room on the corner of Alameda Avenue and South Lamer Street around 7:30 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but he had allegedly been drinking “at work,” police officials said.

There were no injuries to either the family or the driver, outside of a few cuts treated at the scene, said Burbank police Det. Paul Orlowski.

The hole in the house has been boarded up, and the family has limited entry to the front room, said building inspector Mark Sauceda.

The car damaged the framing of the door and the surrounding wall.

The residents could not be reached for comment.

Following the city inspection, the family must apply for permits and hire a contractor to fix the damage, officials said.
