Hiking enthusiasts, take note.

A group of hikers gathers every Tuesday evening for a roughly 4-mile, round-trip hike through the Stough Canyon Nature Center trails in Burbank.

Between 10 and 20 people show up weekly for the roughly hour-and-a-half-long trek, said Jon McGinley, recreation coordinator at the Stough Canyon Nature Center.

“It’s a great challenge,” McGinley said, adding that the group-setting serves as a solid motivation for hikers to keep trekking. “You’re getting an exercise and you’re able to still talk and chit-chat.”

Plus, at the top of the hill, hikers get a “huge, awesome view” of the San Fernando Valley, McGinley said.

The nature center also offers full-moon hikes once a month, with the next one being slated for Aug. 8.

The group welcomes new hikers of all ages. For more information, call (818) 238-5440.
