Man critically injured in train collision dies

The driver of the car that was hit by a Metrolink train on Tuesday has died, authorities said.

The man, who was alone in the car, had been transported to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in critical condition Tuesday afternoon after a Metrolink train collided with the vehicle at the intersection of San Fernando Boulevard and Buena Vista Street in Burbank.

Burbank Deputy Fire Marshal Jorge Martinez said Wednesday morning that the man had died, though the man was not identified and further details were not immediately available.

The collision remains under investigation.
