Man suspected of trying to steal wiring
A 33-year-old Burbank resident was arrested for allegedly breaking into a home under construction earlier this week and attempting to steal copper electrical wiring.
Burbank police were alerted to the residential burglary Wednesday night by a nearby resident who heard noises and saw someone inside the fenced-off area of the home being built in the 1100 block of Screenland Drive, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.
When police arrived, they found a large amount of copper electrical wiring that the suspect, Aaron Padilla, had reportedly cut from inside the residence and stacked in a pile.
The officers climbed the fence, found Padilla inside and arrested him.
Padilla’s bail was set at $50,000.
