A bicyclist remained hospitalized Tuesday after he was struck by a vehicle in Burbank Sunday night, police said.

The 38-year-old man was apparently riding his bicycle southbound on Hollywood Way, on the wrong side of the road, at 11:21 p.m. when he was struck by a sedan making a right turn onto Hollywood Way from Pacific Avenue, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.

The man was hospitalized after sustaining “significant head trauma” from hitting the windshield and being knocked to the ground, Ryburn said. He was expected to survive.

Police found no indication that the driver, 18-year-old Jonathan Rheaume of Burbank, was under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, Ryburn said.
