Roundup: Burbank High boys’ volleyball gets sweep against Arcadia

BOYS’ VOLLEYBALL

Burbank d. Arcadia, 25-18, 26-24, 25-22: The Bulldogs stayed in second place in the Pacific League with a win Friday on the road.

Burbank (14-2, 7-1 in league) was led by Joseph Servin, who tallied 12 kills and 15 digs. Teammate Robert O’Brien added 10 kills, Willie Perryman had nine kills and Peter Jang had 33 assists.

BASEBALL

Pasadena 1, Burroughs 0 (eight innings): The Indians just couldn’t topple the league-leading Bulldogs Friday in a Pacific League game at home.

Pasadena was able to score the winning run in the eighth inning on an error.

Burroughs (8-8, 2-4 in league) received a solid effort from starting pitcher Cole Meyer, who held Pasadena hitless over 7 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out nine. The Bulldogs tallied just one hit in the game.

Anthony Bocanegra was two for three for the Indians.
