Roundup: Burroughs High baseball gets past Arcadia

Burroughs 1, Arcadia 0: The Indians came up with a big win Friday at home to keep them in fourth place in the Pacific League and knock Arcadia into second place.

The Indians received a solid effort from starting pitcher Cole Meyer, who went the distance, recording a four-hitter and striking out seven.

In the third inning, Burroughs pushed across its only run on a run-scoring double by Ryan Galan.

Pacific League Finals: Burroughs High's Dexter Brown had a strong day in the meet Thursday at Burbank High. Brown finished second in the 200-yard freestyle, and his time of 1 minute 48.31 seconds set a new school record. Brown later scored a come-from-behind victory in the 100 freestyle with a time of 48.95.

"When I got the win, it was crazy because when I looked over I saw them all ahead of me at the beginning," Brown said.
