Two women seriously hurt in Burbank when hit by SUV
Two women were hospitalized after being struck by an SUV while crossing the street in Burbank Thursday evening, police said.
The 45-year-old motorist told police she never saw the pedestrians when she was turning left onto Olive Avenue from Parish Place in her Lexus SUV, said Burbank Police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.
One of the women, 60, fractured her right ankle and femur, her pelvis and both arms, Ryburn said. The other woman, 70, broke her left shoulder.
The women were crossing the street in a marked crosswalk, Ryburn said.
Police reported no indication that drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident, which occurred at 7:14 p.m.
The investigation remained ongoing.
