Unemployment rate ticks up locally, down in state
The unemployment rate dipped statewide in June, but the tri-city area didn’t see the benefit, according to the latest report from the state Employment Development Department.
Glendale and Pasadena each saw unemployment rates rise 0.1%, to 9.7% and 8.5%, respectively.
Likewise, the rate in La Crescenta-Montrose bumped up 0.1% to 5.5%.
The jobless rates in the other local communities remain unchanged – 9% in Burbank, 4.3% in La Cañada Flintridge, 5% in San Marino and 5.5% in South Pasadena.
Statewide, the unemployment rate dropped 0.1% to 10.7%.
