Good morning, readers. Today is Wednesday, August 22. A woman says a dirty pool left abandoned in the backyard of a foreclosed Studio City home gave her West Nile virus.

In May, a Building and Safety employee gave an order to the owner of the property to clean the pool, according to the Daily News. Meanwhile, a county spokeswoman told the publication that someone has been pouring chemicals into the pool regularly to kill an potential mosquitoes, apparently without the neighbors’ knowledge.
