El Tricolor se coronó en la Copa Oro.
Aprovechando un golazo de Andrés Guardado y descuidos del rival, México superó 3-1 a Jamaica para consagrarse por séptima ocasión, desde 1993, como el campeón del certamen de selecciones de la Concacaf.
De esta manera, la escuadra de Miguel Herrera enfrentará el 9 de octubre a Estados Unidos por el pase a la Copa Confederaciones de Rusia 2017.
Un golazo de Guardado, el mejor hombre del Tri en el certamen, abrió el camino para la victoria mexicana ante unos Reggae Boyz que pusieron resistencia en el primer lapso.
Paul Aguilar mandó un centro para la llegada de Guardado, quien con una volea de zurda venció al portero jamaiquino.
Diego Reyes evitó el posible empate de los isleños al barrerse al 45’ impidiendo que el balón le llegara a un atacante que estaba frente a Memo Ochoa.
Al complemento, en el 46’, Jesús Corona se enfiló al arco y sacó un zurdazo imposible para el guardameta. Oribe Peralta aprovechó un mal rechace de la defensa para poner el 3-0 al 60’.
Jamaica no bajó los brazos y Darren Mattocks al 79’ realizó una buena definición para hacer el tanto de la honra.
