Aunque el combate se tuvo que ir a las tarjetas, Mikey García fue el claro ganador ante Robert Easter Jr. el sábado en el Staples Center en un duelo de unificación de los títulos de peso ligero del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo (CMB) y Federación Internacional de Boxeo (FIB).

En un duelo pactado en las 135 libras, García se llevó el puntaje de los tres jueces: 118-109, 117-110 y 116-111. Además que había tumbado a Easter en el tercer episodio.

La unificación de títulos en peso ligero no sucedía desde que lo alcanzó Juan Manuel Márquez en 2009 ante Juan Díaz.
