Share

Kimberly Rhodes has been named Network Director of Family Promise of East San Fernando Valley, which serves Burbank and surrounding communities. Family Promise is a national nonprofit organization committed to helping low-income families to achieve lasting independence.

Rhodes has worked in the social service and nonprofit field for more than 20 years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in art and minor in human services from the University of Montevallo in Alabama. While attending college, she spent four months as a missionary in Miami, working with Cuban refugees.

After working in domestic violence and mental health in Alabama for several years, Rhodes secured a position in the private sector and moved to California. She returned to the mental health field by accepting the position of Program Director for a residential treatment facility for transitional youth and worked her way up to the position of Director of Programs and Services, supervising multiple programs and facilities.

Rhodes also co-chaired the development of a county funded wellness program and led a campaign to create an outpatient clinic to further assist residents toward independent living. She continued her studies at UCLA and received a certificate in co-occurring disorders.
